Hi everyone !

Welcome to my blog which means that you know my name is Leona and furthermore you know the products and services I provide.

Well that's enough of the formalities.

I asked a friend of mine"what's a blog ?"

She told me a blog is an informal diary with random thoughts and ideas both written and in photographic form, in this case linked to Posh Chair Covers and Bows.

Seem's straightforward enough.

I then looked at other blog's and decided i didn't want to fall into the trap as others have of the blog solely becoming a platform for self promotion.
I noticed that sometimes people take themselves far too seriously !

I did have a few reservations about the blog, such as putting our new ideas up for others to copy, but everything comes with a downside and as someone once said "copied but never surpassed".
Come on people have a bit originality ( you know who you are).

I was also thinking of doing a feature every now and again of specialist suppliers that we work closely with to open the subject matter up a bit.

Hopefully as we progress it will be informative and heaven forbid a bit of fun !

So without further ado...................

Top Horror Stories About Chair Covers

Here are a few horror stories that we have heard about chair cover mishaps.

  • The chair covers were delivered to the venue with the expectation that the venue staff will fit the covers, this is not the staffs job resulting in unused chair covers.
  • The chair covers did not fit the chairs properly

  1. The chair covers were too short resulting in half mast covers (never a good look).
  2. Square chair covers on a round top chair resulting in 'flappy eared chair covers'.
  3. WORST The chair covers were too narrow to fit the chairs so the supplier slashed the covers with a stanley knife and tried to disguise this by sticking them with masking tape ! 100% TRUE.
  • The chair covers were not freshly laundered with heavy staining and creased covers.
  • The chair cover supplier only had white chair covers but failed to tell the bride that the 'house' linen was beige resulting in white chair covers with beige linen. (What people will do to get a booking.
  • The chair cover supplier also hired out table linen to the bride as the venue did not carry white linen but failed to tell the bride she needed napkins, cake table cloth present table cloth and spare cloths for the evening resulting in mismatched linen for the day and the night.

Top 10 Tips - How To Pick A Reliable Chair Cover Supplier

1.    Always visit the supplier and have a look at the chair covers i.e try before you buy. There are ‘chair covers ‘ and there are ‘chair covers’.
2.    If you are unable to visit the supplier then check them out on their website is there plenty of photographs showing examples of their work.

3.    Do you require Lycra, Polyester or Linen chair covers ?  There is a difference in feel, quality and comfort. However it doesn’t necessarily mean that the better the quality the higher the price.

4.    You will know when you are comfortable with your supplier,   if you’re not then shop around till you are.

5.    When you initially emailed a supplier did they respond to your email in a timely manner ? If not this could be the shape of things to come.

6.    Is the supplier doing the business as  part time to supplement their income or is it their full time job ? This will probably have an impact on point 5 and any future correspondence.

7.    Does the supplier have your colour sash if not are they willing to source it for you, should you really have to make do.

8.     Does the chair cover fit the chair there are many companies that will have a ‘standard’ size chair cover. Make sure the chair cover ‘covers’ the legs ( half mast trousers isn’t a good look ) .

9.    Do your chair covers co-ordinate with your venues table linen don’t let anyone tell you white blends with ivory or worse still white blends with beige.

10. Will your chair covers be fully laundered before your event ? Some companies will quality control the cover and put it out unlaundered for 2 or 3 events.

This is not a definitive list but it's a starter for 10.

Question:- Why compile this list ?
Answer :- We will follow this post up with some chair cover horror stories that will probably answer this question.
